#124  Who's That?

Finished size 68" x 86"

Each of these 15" blocks are named for people from American history -- with the exception of  one.  54/40 Or Fight was a political slogan when James Polk was running for president and refers to a dispute over the northern boundaries of the Oregon Territory.  Each block is described on its own page, with a paragraph telling who the person was that the block was named for, and cutting and piecing instructions for making the block.  This is a good block of the month, or to make a wonderful quilt.

#123  Into the Woods

Finished size 50" x 61"

The blocks on this quilt are strip pieced and measure 7" x 12".  By creating right hand and left hand blocks, the top becomes covered with tessellating trees.  The model is stitched with scrappy greens and tans, but could be done in the colors of your choice.

 #120 Winter Meadow

Three sizes: twin 53" x 69", full 69" x 86, queen 86" x 102"

This quilt can be scrappy or made from fat quarters.  Block size is 13 1/2" with a secondary pattern created with the sashing.

      #119 A-Maze-ing Kids Quilt

       Finished size is 42" x 58".

This quilt truly is a maze, with two paths leading from the upper right corner to   the lower left corner.  Can you find them?

The quilt is divided into 12 different blocks to make them easier to create.  Colored squares are cut 2 1/2 inches, which can be cut individually or from strips such as jelly rolls.  There is also a chart for cutting the black strips to fit the block instructions.  Use any two 4" squares at the beginning and end to suit the child's interests.
