Connie's Notes January 2008 Oh my, this month has flown by. I'm working on a couple of new cross stitch pieces for the Nashville Market next month. I just finished stitching a reversible blackwork piece which I named Here's My Heart. It will be a piece that can be done after learning the techniques I will teach at Nashville. Of course the pattern will include the instructions, too. My other new piece is a Blackwork Turtle. Don't know how I've gotten involved with turtles, but I have two quilt patterns that include turtles, too. BIG PROBLEM: The design program I use for cross stitch refuses to open. How am I going to print the new charts? Gotta get to work on that. I had eyelid surgery 2 weeks ago, to open my eyes more. I must admit that I am now seeing better. A good thing for a needleworker and quilter. Ha. February 2008 The trip to Nashville was successful. I enjoyed the class I taught (reversible blackwork bookmark), and meeting so many old friends and making new ones. The two new charts were well received, and I'm busy printing more. I got a nice order from Clotilde just before I left. I hope you'll be seeing my Mix and Match Crib Quilt book and a couple of tablerunner patterns in their next catalog -- or at least on their web page. I'm getting ready for a visit from my daughter-in-law and grandson this week end. They haven't been here since I moved. Unfortunately the weather is supposed to be a little cool and rainy. I'm sure it will be better than what they've had in Chicago this winter. |
